Shane Michael Mattingly, 53, of Jensen Beach, Florida, passed away on April 18, 2026.

Born August 8, 1972 in Buckeye Lake, Ohio, Shane made his way to Florida and never looked back. A devoted Ohio State Buckeyes fan, a lifelong Jimmy Buffett devotee, and never happier than with his feet in the sand, Shane was charming, quick with a laugh, and always the life of the party. He could hold his own on any karaoke stage. He loved living in Florida, his lifelong dream, and everything it had to offer: snorkeling, kayaking, and margaritas.

He is survived by his children, Andy Mattingly and Miranda Luckett; his grandchildren, Jayden and Janie; and his dear friend Katherine Johnson, whose steadfast love and care during his final months meant the world. He is also survived by his father, Robert Mattingly, and stepmother, Ellen Brandes-Mattingly. He was preceded in death by his mother, Debra Harding.

A private family ceremony will be held in Key West, where his ashes will be scattered in the waters he loved.
