Shaheed Penn-El, 51, of Rockville, MD, passed away on July 10, 2022 after a fatal car accident.

Shaheed was born on December 30th ,1971 to the parents of Sharita Young and Raheem Abdul Penn-El in Washington DC. After graduating from Eastern high school in 1988,  he went on to study Criminal  Justice  at UDC After graduation, he landed his first job as a probation officer for 31 years. In 1990 he met Jacquita Brooking and they wed in 1996 , going on to have 5 children. Shaheed Brooking, DeAunte Brooking, DeAundre Brooking , Shamar Brooking , and DBrooking. Shaheed was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to his than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of his wife and children.He always  tried his best to support them.


Shaheed enjoyed giving back to the community and often volunteered at homeless shelters.  Anyone who knew Shaheed knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. Shaheed was predeceased by his father Raheem Abdul Penn-El. He is survived by his wife , five children and his 12  grandchildren. The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Lee funeral home. There will be a memorial at Lee funeral home in Clinton Maryland on Saturday July 16th, 2022 .
