I don't understand why this heartbreak is part of God's plan, but I am grateful for all the rescue community coming together to support Seuk's family. I never met Seuk, but as a volunteer rescue transporter/supporter, I am so honored to know so many good people in rescue and each of them has a little bit of Seuk in them. So his kind spirit will endure and his love of animals will go on...That is love.

I never met Seuk, but I do know one of his fellow pilots in the Pilots for Paws program. We tend to get so caught up in the pups...that we forget about the risks these heroic people take. Our sincerest condolences to Seuk's beautiful family...and our gratitude for all the pups saved...and all the connections made with loving families. The two pups that survived must now go on to live extraordinary lives. That's just the way it has to be.

Your father was such a wonderful man to volunteer to help rescue animals. My father was also very kind and gentle and died when I was 11. Losing a father when you are a child is more painful than words can describe. I held all my feelings inside so my mom wouldn’t worry about me. I shouldn’t have done that. I should have shown my feelings, talked about them with my family and friends, written about them in my journal. I wanted to be strong and brave because I thought that is what my dad would want, but as an adult, I realize now that he would want me to do whatever I needed to do to become happy again. My hope is that you, Seuk’s beautiful children, will not bottle your feelings inside. Let the adults and a therapist perhaps help you work with your grief.
