Serhii Kalynovskyi was born and raised in Ukraine. He was the only child of Iryna Kalynovska (deceased 12/2011). He was a bright and driven individual, and achieved many great things over the course of his life. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors and Masters degrees in Physical Oceanography from Moscow State University, followed by completing his PhD (ABD) work in Marine Physics at the Marine Hydrophysical Institute in Sevastopol, Ukraine.
His numerous career accomplishments include published articles in scientific journals, working as a tenured professor of Physics, Chemistry, and Advanced Mathematics, serving as a Meteorology Engineer for the Army in Ukraine, and obtaining a Graduate Certificate in Institutional Research at University of FL, followed by working as Director of Institutional Research at Pacific Union College for the past ~15 years. He loved his work, and was a very dedicated professional in every position he held.
In 1986, he met the love of his life, Larissa Kalynovska, to whom he was married for ~35 years. He adopted his oldest child (Lina Penner), and in 1988, he had a daughter, Nika Kalynovska. He loved his wife, and was a devoted father to his two daughters and grandfather to his two granddaughters (Arianna Carin and Amiah Candelle). He took care of his family and supported them in many immeasurable ways.
He is deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
