Great Con friends, Z and Seb, dressed up at Calvin and Luther for Halloween. I ran into them at Boe Chapel. It made me laugh so much knowing their shared interest in the Reformation.

Sending love to all of you. Seb was amazing. He spoke to us of his studies and also his desire to preach the word of the Lord to others. He was very deep and thoughtful in the things he did. Big hugs and love to the entire family. Thinking of you.

I don’t have a story to share but more thoughts about Seb. I had French class with Seb and we were also on the swim team together. We were never really close friends but I had always considered us to be in between acquaintances and friends. I remember thinking he was so smart and as a fellow nerd in high school (where nerds aren’t the highest level of social class) I was always jealous of his ability to be authentically himself. It’s something that I still think about to this day. People would poke fun at him, and sometimes even bully Seb, but he let those things bounce right off of him, laughing it off. I remember the sound of his voice and the way his bright blue eyes would light up when he laughed. I felt crazy when I was so upset over hearing about Seb’s passing. As I said, we were never very close, but I think it perfectly explains the type of impact he had on people. He seamlessly left a mark on my high school memories and i find it tragic that I didn’t realize until he was gone.
I wish Seb’s family the absolute best in their journey of healing. He was an incredibly good guy and I hope you understand the reach his presence on our beautiful earth had.

Hugs to you all ❤️
I first met Seb when I was a parent volunteer, tasked with fitting his first band uniform. He was so excited about starting at City High and loved talking about his music. It was a pleasure to see all that he accomplished over his years there.

The last time I saw Seb was when I was working at Short's. He stopped in right when we were closing and decided not to eat there so we could all go home, but we did get to talk and catch up, He asked how I was and what I was up too and I told him I was almost done with college finally and he gave me nothing but support and kind words. We talked for a short time but just like every time I talked to Seb he was kind and supportive. From Show Choir to just little conversations he was always a great person to be around.

This is one of my favorite videos of my brother. Hearing his voice brings tears to my eyes. I hope you can enjoy this little clip as much as I do. If you have any videos of him singing, talking or whistling, please share it!
