Bro, it's been many years and continents apart - but that does nothing to lessen this sadness. Memories have hit like a punch to the gut; school trips and sleep overs, multiple New Years Eves, you teaching me squash... all the way through to nights out in Joburg as young men.

We could blow it all in 5 minutes at the roulette table, then laugh about it over beer and cigarellos. Mistakes with Stroh rum and other drinks were  made but with no regrets - even if security did have to tell us to stop "swimming" in the casino entrance fountain and go to the actual hotel pool!

We disagreed on a lot of things, religious or political, but none of that  mattered - our friendship was an unspoken pact that outweighed those differences.

To have grown up with you is a privilege.                                                                             You were a bright mind, a fiercely loyal friend, and my life is richer for having known you.

This news was hard to hear brother. It's been a few years since we last spoke but I have so many memories from when we were kids. When you lived in Lonehill I remember we would flood your mums flowerbed and then try dam it up and stop the water (sorry Penny). I remember going to the bush and we came across a giraffe skeleton at the edge of a river, and we freaked out coming up with all kinds of solutions for what we'd do if a leopard suddenly appeared 🤣. That week we spent in Hermanus with your dad making parachutes for the toy soldiers we'd throw over the balcony, and the mosque we stopped at on the drive back to Joburg, just to take a look. Our mutual love of jets that we'd talk about for hours. Cubs at Riverside and all the adventures we went on. So many good times that I'll always remember you by. Rest easy. Love Andrew ❤️

Seb was my groomsman, we became friends through many late nights together working on our thesis or in the bars of Stellenbosch together.

Saw him last year, I can’t believe I won’t hear your voice again. Love you brother
