Ros, Seb's sister, and I were pretty much permanently together as kids, so Seb was part of the package getting up to all kinds of childhood adventures and naughtiness. Although he was younger, I think we annoyed him terribly because we used to tease him for being smart. And he really was, he was always focussed and achieving what he put his mind to. The last time we saw one another was way back in Stellenbosch where he was studying Engineering. I got VIP tickets to a nightclub and took him as my plus 1.Β  It was probably the first time we had spent time together, just the two of us, and we had a blast. It was so great seeing that side of him, the smart boy I knew, now a brilliant young, fun loving man. You filled space Seb, despite our childhood banter and will be missed.

2021, Colombia
Seb and I got to know each other during our b school trip to Colombia. Even though we didn’t yet know each other well at the time, he skipped an event so that I wouldn’t go to the market alone looking for replacement flip flops. We started exchanging β€œugly souvenirs” with each other when he got me an eerie-looking doll magnet. We’d try to outdo each other with the oddity of our gifts πŸ˜‚ I still have the dried alligator head he brought from the Everglades. Seb has always been warm and kind to everyone around him. As a friend, you could always rely on him to lighten the mood when you were down. Love you so much Seb and will miss you greatly β™₯️ — with Matthew Sheh and Emily Chan

Seb was a core part of our post-grad Philly friend circle, andΒ a staple at my monthly game nights / watch parties. Seb unfailingly walked in with a huge smile, greeting everyone with a hug.Β More often than not, he brought along a new friend or two. I always thought it was remarkable how many friends Seb had in the city. That wasn’t ever surprising though, given howΒ he genuinely wanted to understand people, beyond the small talk.Β

We will miss you, my friend. May your soul rest in peace.Β

Sending my love to Roz and all the family. Thinking of you all,  Mel 🀍🀍🀍🀍

Seb always had a way with people around him. While we were traveling in Kenya, he started chatting with one of the tribe leaders at this reserve we visited. They quickly became friends and he even took off his head piece and offered Seb his prized lion mane to wear. I’ve always been inspired by Seb’s warmth and ability to connect with people. I’ll miss you Seb.

Thank you for carrying all my bags for me from NYC to Philly - I think it was 3 bags + backpack . I couldnt have done it with you. We took this pic on the greyhound bus

I met Seb through Ilia his "russian brother" as Seb would say. I honestly really didn't expect Seb to become one of my closest friends in Philly at all as on paper we are so different in everyway. However, Seb just understood and believed in me when no one else did and went out of his way to solve my issues that didnt affect him one bit.Β

He was definitely the light to the end of my tunnel, the reason I am in Lauder /Wharton, one of the reason I'm in Philly and definitely one of the reason why I have so many friends in Wharton/ Lauder/ US.Β  Its crazy when i go to wg22/23/24 parties and I just say that I'm seb's friend and how included I am. I hope one day i have that affect on people's lives like you do.Β

Seb was a great connector and understood different types of people. I stayed with him for 2 weeks when I first came to Philly in May earlier this year.Β  He made me feel welcome in Philly as well as Wharton / Lauder.Β

Life has not been same without you in Philly since you left. Not a day or moment has passed that I haven't thought about you and how I should have hung out with you more as you are only 9 mins walk from me.Β I wouldn't be here in Philly, Wharton or lauder without you Seb. I hope you know how much I appreciate everything you've done for me and so much that i wish i could say thank you again one more time.Β

I hope you realise how much impact you have made on different people's life and thank you again for changing my life.Β

We were very saddened to hear the news of Sebs passing. Roz is a very close friend of mine and my husband helped to get him a job here in the Cayman Islands. I was very lucky to get to know my friends lil bro. Seb was always kind and quite funny. My favorite story was when I was having a quite drink and catch up with a friend at a local pub and Seb and a friend who I didn't know walked in. His friend had a few more drinks in him and thought he'd hit on us married mums. Seb saw what was happening and told his mate "bro, that's my sister's friend!" and was able to usher him away. Seb gave me a cheeky smile as he walked his friend away from us.Β

Seb will be missed and remembered world wide. Our hearts are with his family and friends.Β
