Sean's obituary

Sean "Shamrock" Duddy, 79, of Lewiston, ME. Passed away peacefully in his sleep  on January 16, 2023 . He was surrounded by his family. Sean was born on July 02, 1943.

He was educated at Sterling High School and Brown Business College . He became employed at Northeastern Steel and Wire Company in 1965, retiring in 1998. He married Dorothy Mcgrade on January 16, 1966. She died on November 22, 1996. They were active members serving in leadership roles in Our lady of the rosary, Prince of Peace chapel located in Sabattus Maine.

In 1977 he was ordained a Lay minister serving in Maine prisons, and as pastor interim at sons of Ireland clergy. He served as volunteer minister in area nursing homes, church services, as well as those who had no pastor.

Sean will be remembered most for his love of the outdoors, skiing, hunting, and fishing. Most of all though through his great love for others who will miss his warm embrace and kind words of affection.

He was the devoted father of John J. Duddy and his wife Elizabeth of Quincy, Kenneth M. Duddy of Holden, and Christine M. Duddy of Braintree. Sean was the devoted father-in-law of Patricia Duddy of Holden. He was the loving papa of Colleen and Michael Duddy, both of Holden, Brendan and Kiley Duddy, both of Quincy, and Sean Duddy of Quincy. Sean was proud of his step sons whom he helped foster from a young age including, Michael, Sean, Shaun, and  Hugh. He was the dear brother of Mary Downing and her husband George of Quincy, Nora Linnane and her late husband Robert of Quincy, the late Thomas Duddy, and the late Michael Duddy. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Seans services will be held as follows,  

Our Lady of the Rosary, Prince of Peace church

Viewing hours;

Friday January 20th 10 am til noon, followed by a mercy meal at the Whitley  residence. 

The following day ;

Ceremony of life to be held at Our Lady of the Rosary, Prince of Peace church

We ask the ceremony of life to be kept to direct and immediate family only
