Fun memories are the best medicine!  Not only fun times in high school but many reunion dances.  I can see yall now on the dance floor.  Jim and I send you all our love and sympathy.

1964, Decatur, AL, USA
"A Hard Day's Night" didn't make it to Decatur in 1964 but Scotty and I were determined to see the movie anyway and concocted a plan, without parental permission, to drive on a Sunday to Birmingham for the 1 p.m. showing and then drive back to Decatur in time for evening supper. We recruited my future wife and another buddy for moral support. They didn't have permission either. Great movie. Great adventure and, to my knowledge, no parent was ever the wiser. Scotty was a close friend through our high school years and for the two years we spent at Florence State Teachers College (UNA). I have fond memories of our shared interest in music and sports, especially the after school football and basketball games. A big smile and a twinkle in his eye. Especially the night we rolled his old girlfriend's house.  That's the Scotty I remember.
