Scott's obituary
Scott D. Taylor, 77, left this world on September 24, 2022. Although it was following a brief battle with cancer, that’s not his style so he would prefer we make up something more exciting.
Martin, KY welcomed Scott on April 20, 1945, however Michigan became his home for most of his life. He spent over 30 years as a cable installer (always ensuring his daughter had a full channel lineup), then worked over five “retirement” years for Damon’s Asphalt Maintenance where he endlessly (and truthfully) bragged that he worked circles around all the younger employees. He spent the rest of his days keeping up on repair and improvement projects at the Wheel Inn Campground, Leslie, MI where he resided in the cabin that he built with his own hands. When not working, Scott enjoyed coon hunting, casino trips, complaining about politics, playing his Xbox, and mostly, walking the beautiful trails surrounding his home with his dogs, his daughters’ dogs, and likely stranger dogs who couldn’t pass up the opportunity.
Scott is preceded in death by his parents CR and Gertrude Taylor, and brothers Don Taylor, Bob Taylor, and Charles Taylor. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Carlotta Taylor and son Ace Taylor, brothers Dan Taylor, Tommy Taylor, and Larry Taylor, as well as good friends Ernie, Damon, and Bill. He will also be forever remembered by countless nieces, nephews, and other friends and relatives. The stories now left to be told will be part real, part made up, mostly funny, but always capturing the real Scott with a huge heart- doing things his own way.
At his request cremation has taken place and there will be no service, however every memory will be a celebration of his life. Scattering will occur privately along the wooded trails he loved to walk.
