Scott's obituary

Scott Seney (1953-2020)

Scott Seney, a loving father, devoted friend, and well-respected member of his community, unexpectedly passed away on October 21, 2020. He was born on November 5, 1953, and his vibrant life and warm demeanor leave an unfillable void in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Scott is survived by his daughters, Rachel, Blair, and AJ who brought light and love into his life (sometimes despite his best efforts) and his four brothers Pat, Steve, Mike, and Roy who brought shenanigans and sometimes annoyance. A proud graduate of the Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD, Scott earned his degree in 1975 and went on to serve his nation with distinction. As a Marine, he exemplified honor and commitment, leaving a lasting impression on all those who served with him. Scott left active service to spend more time with his growing family and continued to impact the lives of those around him in his role as a plant manager, leading by example and offering his guidance and support to the many individuals who had the privilege of working under him. Scott was a man of many hobbies, all of which he approached with an infectious enthusiasm. He was an avid fisherman, always excited to share (tall)tales of his latest catch with friends and family. He loved honing his skills on the golf course, enjoying the camaraderie of the sport, and finding peace in the beauty of nature. A self-proclaimed card shark, Scott's love for playing poker brought him many joyful moments with his daughters and lasting friendships. Those who knew Scott saw him as a larger-than-life presence. Described as warm, friendly, and quick to laughter, Scott's ability to make every person he encountered feel valued and welcomed was one of his most remarkable qualities. His heartwarming smile and genuine interest in the lives of others made for countless lifelong friendships. Scott Seney's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know him. His daughters, friends, and even casual acquaintances will carry on his spirit of warmth, laughter, and generosity for years to come.

Fair winds and following seas, Dad.
