Scott's obituary

Scott Douglas Loew, D. C.

From Grace: July 9th, 1962 | To Glory: May 6th, 2024.

Scott Douglas Loew, D.C. (Doc) to many of us, was a true servant. He was put here to offer healing. His tools for healing included his big brain, big hands and an even bigger heart. Sometimes helping people to heal through applying chiropractic adjustments, fixing their car, or sometimes by giving them hope that they had the power to influence how they lived their life.

Scott attended Parkway Central Highschool in St. Louis County.  He then attended Westminster University in Fulton Missouri. In 1984 Scott found his most rewarding School experience at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, IL (SIUE), where he went on to study computer science. Scott was a fraternity member in Sigma Phi Epsilon at SIUE.

A change of careers came in 1997 when Scott graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic in Missouri. From 1998 to 2023 Scott worked as a chiropractor with Andy Harding D.C. at the Chiropractic Healing Center in Kansas City, Kansas. There he made many friends and treated second and even third generation patients.

Scott had several hobbies from cooking, remote control model airplanes, brewing and distilling to hunting. He was quite comfortable with camping and the serenity of being in the outdoors, whether in the wooded trails on his bicycle near the house or on a mountain bike in the desert exploring dinosaur foot prints. He was very fond of sunsets and took many photos when the ambience called to him.

Scott lived his life with spontaneity and planning. He embodied the philosophy that no matter what, plan for the future, and live for today. He was making plans to travel just in case he might feel up to another adventure…. In the end, as a Christian, he planned to meet his Creator, and he did so with grace and dignity.

Scott is survived by his two children Cameron and Grant; his parents Thomas Loew and Charlotte Bukowski; stepson Josh Gibbar; and girlfriend Brittany Plummer. He is preceded in eternal life by his mother Cameron Loew and his grandparents Art and Katherine Loew, whom he loved dearly.
