Scott's obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Scott Alan Engelgau, who left us on May 16, 2023. His memory will live on through his loving family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.

Scott is survived by his wife, Colleen Engelgau, and his cherished daughter, Candace Engelgau George. He was a proud grandfather to Justyn Reck (12), Delaney George (4), James George (15), and Joyanne George (15). Scott's legacy also extends to his loving parents, Leslie and Richard Engelgau, and his brother, Chris Engelgau. He was predeceased by his brother, Jeff Engelgau.

Born on February 23, 1962, Scott grew up in Molalla, OR and attended Molalla Union High School. He moved to Silverton, OR in later years, where he became a Mac Tools dealer before owning his own repair shop in Mt. Angel. He was an avid drag racing fan and cultivated his love for cars by building race cars for his family to compete with at Woodburn Dragstrip. If he wasn't working, he was working on cars. He was a man of simple pleasures and those that knew him, would describe him as outgoing, caring, and charismatic, always bringing joy and laughter to every room he entered.

His legacy will live on through the countless acts of kindness he performed without expectation of anything in return. Scott's generosity, love, and commitment to helping others will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

As we mourn the loss of Scott, let us remember the joy and love he brought to our lives, the laughter he shared, and the positive impact he had on so many. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to us all.
