Scott's obituary

Our cowboy Scott "Scotty" Dombeck passed away on December 16th at his home in Newkirk, Oklahoma at the age of 55.

Scotty was born on March 23rd in Springfield, Missouri to Elizabeth Carr (Swingly). In his childhood, Scotty and his family lived in the Wichita area and also with family in California. Scotty graduated from Derby High School in 1984 and even started culinary school soon after. Afterward, Scotty relocated to the small town of Douglass, Kansas where he met his future wife.

Scotty was married to Trish Weaver on July 16th, 2000. Together they raised two daughters Samantha and Elizabeth in rural Cowley county where they had a farm of chickens, ducks, horses, goats and any other critters Scotty brought home. Over the past several years, Scotty made his home in Newkirk, Oklahoma where he had countless adventures with his closest friends.

Scotty's true home was in the saddle and his heart was in the countryside. He loved all horses but none more than his two main trail partners, Yokamoli and John Boy and his loyal trail dog Shiloh was always close by. Scotty had a passion for Civil War era re-enactment and a high appreciation for Native American history and culture. Scotty enjoyed the music of Elvis Presley and even played guitar. Scotty was a huge fan of John Wayne and the characters that he portrayed on the big screen, even passing this love to his daughters. Scotty might have been a tough cowboy, but he also had a geeky side that enjoyed classics such as Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. Scotty even enjoyed playing videogames and spent quality time with friends doing so. Scotty was fiercely passionate and full of laughter. He was a free spirit that could not be broken. Scotty was an extremely unique person and a one of a kind man.

Scotty was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Carr and brother Chris Carr. He is survived by his spouse Trish, his daughter Samantha Kidd, his daughter Elizabeth Dombeck, his sister, Diane Eggleston, his nephew Michael Loehr, two granddaughters Piper and Willow Kidd, and a large and loving extended family along with numerous friends that were just the same as family to him.
