Scott's obituary

Hi all, this is Alex Dahlgren, Scott’s oldest kid. I’m heartbroken to share that my dad passed away suddenly on June 19, 2025. I truly appreciate everyone’s patience as we’ve navigated this incredibly difficult time. It’s hard to even begin summarizing my dad’s love, stories, and life in just a few words.

My dad never met a stranger, only future friends. He had a magnetic charm that could light up any room and draw people in. He loved hearing people’s life stories and sharing his own wild ones, many of which you were all a part of. Every time I thought I’d heard them all, he would surprise me with another.

He loved his family and friends fiercely and would do anything to support them. My dad was one of my best friends and biggest supporters; we talked every single day. He always made it a point to check in on me, lift me up, make me laugh, and remind me how loved I was. He always told me, “Choose happy” and “Live life to the fullest now.”

So I will do exactly that, and I hope you will too. Choose happiness, create stories with your loved ones, and live life to the fullest. It’s what he would want.
