Scott's obituary

Scott  K. Conrad, 54, of Wales, MA (born & raised, Northbridge, MA); passed away peacefully at his home on, Thursday, July 07, 2022,  surrounded by his loving and dedicated family.   Scott had battled a sarcoma GIST (Cancer ) from his original 2003 diagnosis, in “remission” off and on, and then in January of 2016, upon his last chemotherapy treatment; he was finally in remission.   From 2016 - all the way  up to his “LIFETIME awaited  5 year -“cancer free diagnosis” -  in March, 2021; &  then received  his  re-diagnosis for metastasis in May 2022.

Scott grew up in Northbridge, MA;  he attended public schools there  & always cherished fond memories of his grandparents home that he grew up in, fishing on Hayden Pond with his grandfather who taught him to fish &  enjoyed being outdoors, drinking his Budweiser & Smoking Bud!

He worked in a Foundry environment for several years, owned his own successful fiberglass repair company,  while a resident in North Carolina - Conrads Fiberglass and Tub Repair, ( in the late 90’s-early 2000’s).   Scott was also an OTR (over the road ) truck driver for a period of time as well,  and then retired in 2009; due to his ongoing illnesses.

In his spare time, Scott  enjoyed spending time with his family & friends,  bass fishing, watching and cheering on the Boston Bruins /Patriots/Red Sox & had various interest in learning projects, as he was very creative and masterful with his hands.  He had a incredible sense of humor, he was kind, very intelligent,  always willing to be helpful & very charismatic.

Scott will be dearly missed terribly by his loving family / friends,  and will always be lovingly remembered for the  man he was.

Scott was sadly predeceased by his loving and respected father, Robert Saucier in 2001;    his caretaker & Fiancé,  Barbara Markunis, in  2016;  as well as one of his favorite people and best friends from his childhood, Tina Redding.

He is survived by his very Loving & Devoted Wife, Heather M Conrad,  of Wales, MA;  his mother, Gloria (Chiras)  Saucier of Northbridge, MA; his brother, Gary Conrad & his wife, Lori Conrad of Northbridge; his sister, LouAnn Conrad  & her partner, Art of Worcester ; his brother Dale Conrad & his wife, Amy Conrad of Virginia; and brother, Ed Ramsdell of North Carolina;  and several nieces & nephews.

Scott also leaves six children -   3 biological daughters - Amanda L (Conrad) (Miller) Becker & her spouse, Matt Becker of Athol, MA;  Brittany L Conrad of Loxley, AL ; , Courtney L Conrad of Foley, AL;  as well as  3 step daughters;  Kaleigh M Tringle Petitt of Moosup, CT,    Teagan M Tringle Petitt of Blackstone, MA and Zoe L Tringle Derkaz of Wales, MA.      Scott was also a “ Puppa “ to seven beautiful grandchildren (5 boys & 2 girls, to date)  - Gabe, Tristan, Gillian, Ziah, Jackson, Avery & Hayden.  He loved being a Puppa more than words can express - even though some lived out of state and couldn’t visit as often as he liked, he enjoyed the time spent with them when he could.   Scott also leaves some very dear family /friends;  Shelley & Tim Tebow, of Blackstone, MA.  He truly cherished the friendship he was able to share with them & we were proud to ask them to stand up for us at our wedding on 9/22/18.   As well as one of his dearest & best friends, Josh Deem, of Millbury, MA.

Scott requested that only a celebration of life be held in his honor,  as he was opposed to traditional funeral services. We encourage any/all of Scott’s loved ones/friends,  to celebrate in the gift of his life,  in any manner you seem fit. He would’ve cherished all of the celebrations;  by those that truly knew &  loved him.

A private ceremony for Scott’s immediate family & friends; true to  celebrating Scott’s beautiful life - was performed shortly after his death, per his last wishes.   Scott was cremated; but no ashes will be spread at this time; and until further notice.
