Scott's obituary

Scott Eugene Bailey

October 20, 1954 – January 15, 2025

Scott Eugene Bailey, 70, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025, at Orlando Regional Medical Center. Born on October 20, 1954, in Shirley, MA, Scott spent much of his life in St. Cloud, FL, where he lived by the tranquil shores of Trout Lake.

Scott had a long career in hospitality with Hyatt, where he developed his signature attention to detail and care for others. Later, he poured his passion and hard work into his own business, Curb Appeal, creating custom concrete landscaping borders that beautified many local homes and businesses.

He loved the simple joys of life: fishing off his dock or on early morning trips, enjoying sunsets over the lake with a cold beer, grilling, and spending time outdoors. Scott also had an artistic side, often sketching or drawing, and he took great pride in maintaining a welcoming home for family and friends.

One of his most cherished memories was returning to Austria in October 2024 with his children, Betina and Brant, to revisit places that had special meaning to him, including where he proposed to his beloved wife, Joan.

Scott is survived by his children, Betina Bailey (spouse Bo Bellew) and Brant Bailey (wife Andrea Braden); his grandchildren, Cole, Shelby, Annalise, Olivia, John Paul, Sadie, and Deckard; his siblings, Gary Bailey, Glen Bailey, and Tracy Bailey; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Christmas Bailey, his parents, Freida and Ralph Bailey, and his sister, Kim Bailey.

A celebration of Scott’s life is tentatively planned for the spring, in St. Cloud, FL. Details will be shared at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family invites contributions to honor his memory, which will help plan his celebration of life and assist with final arrangements.

Scott’s life was a testament to hard work, loyalty, and an appreciation for the quiet beauty of everyday moments. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

"Time spent on the water is never wasted."
