Sarah's obituary

Sarah Lee Anderson Wiley a loving mother, and grandmother transitioned this earthly life to heavenly glory on Friday, February 28, 2025. Born to Alex and Nancy Anderson December 24 ,1944 Sarah was introduced to the Christian faith and was baptized at Oak Grove Baptist Church Zachary, LA and later the family attended Little Rock Baptist Church, Zachary, LA.

Sarah attended Northwestern School, Zachary, LA. excelled in all her educational pursuits, from elementary to high school, played in the high school band and graduated early with honors and because of her inward and outward beauty, was crowned Ms. Northwestern.

After completing high school she attended Southern University, Baton Rouge, LA. Sarah excelled academically and was a proud member of the Southern University cheerleading squad and played the clarinet in the Southern University band. Sarah graduated with a degree in English and French, setting the foundation for her lifelong career in education.

Sarah was passionate about teaching, molding, shaping young minds and dedicated her life to teaching, instructing in the school district working across many schools in the East Baton Rouge parish area and before finding her place at Community Daycare, where she served as a beloved preschool teacher for over 30 years.

She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Samuel Charles Wiley, Sr., a loving, caring mother to four children, Charlene Wiley McCory (Derick), Erica Wiley Lars (Patrick ), Chandra Wiley and Samuel Charles Wiley, Jr.,(Jaylan). Sarah’s nurturing spirit also extended to her seven grandchildren, Patrick, Parker, Paris, Logan, CJ, Kylie and Carson, all who she cherished deeply.

She served faithfully with the Order of the Eastern Star, other civic organizations and held leadership positions in each organizational affiliation.

She leaves to cherish her children, grandchildren, and one sister, Brenda Butler. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Nancy Anderson , her husband Samuel Charles Wiley Sr., her brothers in Christ, Lavern, John, Leon, and Arnold.

Sarah’s life will be celebrated on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Greater King David Baptist Church, where family, friends, and loved ones will gather to honor her legacy and the profound impact she made on so many lives
