Sandra's obituary
Sandra Dee Natalie Wan, 61, of Saint Albans, Queens, died on October 24, 2022. She was born on July 26, 1961, in Kingston, Jamaica, to Pearline Anderson of St. Elizabeth and Wilson Wan of Buff Bay.
Sandra, affectionately known as “Swan” by family members and close friends, migrated from Kingston with her family to Brooklyn, New York, in April of 1974.
She is survived by her mother, Pearline, and her four siblings Claudette Chin-Plaschka, Carrol Laham, Ouida Duncan, Neil Duncan, and their children.
She was the proud aunt for all of her nieces and nephews: Tenisha, Tony, Eduardo, Timmy, Chanel, April, Christina, Jade, Gabby, Kelsey, Kymonne, Justin, Amal, Kniya, and grand nieces and nephews: James Jr., Laiona, Aiyana, Victoria, Kevin and Justice.
She’s preceded in death by her father Wilson Wan.
Sandra was the glue of her family, who knew every single family member’s birthday by heart and made a point of proactively reaching out to family members right after midnight on their birthdays. Her legacy of love in action and dedication, devotion, passion and being ever present will be missed. She was known for her kindness and generous spirit, which inspired all she met.
Viewing and Memorial services are on Friday, October 28th, 2022 from 5-7pm at Harmony Funeral Home on Clarendon; 2200 Clarendon Rd, Brooklyn, NY 11226, USA. Final viewing will be at 9:30 AM and the burial will be on Saturday, October 29th, 2022, at Cypress Hills, 833 Jamaica Avenue, Brooklyn, at 10:30 am.
