Sandra's obituary
Sandra Chase Taylor (Sandra Jean Chase) peacefully passed away on December 5th, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on August 28, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, and lived a life marked by kindness, strength, and a deep devotion to her family.
Sandra was known for her generous spirit, warmth, and unmistakable sense of humor. She worked in the legal field for over 30 years and, for more than eight years, worked and dedicated herself to special education; nurturing and supporting students with patience and kindness. She also loved camping, cooking, gardening, enjoyed practicing Swedish and playing the dulcimer, hobbies that brought joy to her and to those fortunate enough to share them. Throughout her life, she took care of everyone around her, offering steady support, unconditional love, and a presence her family will forever cherish. She was no-nonsense, spoke her mind, and called it like she saw it, earning the respect and admiration of all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Raymond Taylor, her mother, Betty Chase, her sister, Cynthia Ethridge, and her children: Beth, Lisa, and Mia, who loved her deeply and will carry her memory in their hearts. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished beyond measure.
She was preceded in death by her father, Sam Chase, her loving grandparents, Sylvia and Harold Ellison, her aunt Gloria Levin, who was like a sister to her, and her uncle Arnold Levin.
To honor Sandra’s life and legacy, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Open Door Rehabilitation Center, where her daughter Beth, who has cerebral palsy, has been lovingly cared for and supported for over 33 years. This is a place that held deep significance to Sandra and her family. Donations can be made online at https://secure.qgiv.com/for/o…, by mail to 405 S. Wells Street, Sandwich, IL 60548, or by calling (815) 786-8468.
In accordance with her wishes, Sandra will be cremated, and no service or memorial will be held. The family appreciates your thoughts, support, and compassion during this deeply difficult time.
Her warmth, honesty, and love will remain with all who knew her.
