It is with great sorrow that I learned of cousin Sandy's passing. She was seldom seen but much loved by me, I will miss her. However, I would be remiss by not sharing my favorite story. It means nothing to those that read this but I will forever cherish the memory.
Sandy and my Uncle Willard took me fishing several times but there is one event that is most memorable. We were fishing live baits off a short dock and Sandy decided to cast her rod. The bait never made the water, it landed on the back side of my right ear. Sandy, not understanding my situation, decided she needed to cast harder and so she did. As I recall, she made several more attempts all the while dragging my ear and me toward the edge of the dock. Uncle Willard intervened and managed to get the hook out without much fanfare; seems like he used a rusty pocketknife. I chided Sandy about this event every chance I had and we both always laughed. That's how I will always remember Sandy.
With much love ... thanks cousin!
