Sandy's obituary

Sandra “Sandy” Ford

December 5, 1959 - January 28, 2025

Sandra “Sandy” Ford, 65, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025, at 4:20 AM after a courageous battle with cancer.

Sandy was born on December 5, 1959, in Zion, IL, to Leslie and Shirley Ford. Throughout her life, Sandy embraced a variety of careers, always known for her strong work ethic and dedication to her family's well-being.

She was a loving mother to her children, Joshua and Sabrina Ford, and an adoring grandmother to Jeremiah, Jonathan, Ethan, Trinity, Mercy, Bryce, Brayden, Eternity, Robert, Elijah, and Heavenly.

Sandy was an avid enthusiast of the outdoors, finding joy in fishing, hunting, gardening, and camping. Her love for nature was matched by her passion for traveling and enjoying bonfires with friends and family. Early in life, she was fascinated by race cars, bodybuilding, nutrition, and fitness.

Her hobbies extended to the arts of laughter and socializing; Sandy was renowned for her great sense of humor, her ability to make people laugh, and her love for playing card games like euchre and Skip-Bo, as well as word games like Words With Friends and Scrabble. Music was another passion, where she enjoyed everything from rock with favorites like Led Zeppelin and Journey, to Christian music, and even getting down to some dance tunes.

A fan of television and movies, her favorite shows included "NCIS" and "Heartland," and she cherished horror, particularly Stephen King's works, along with fantasy and sci-fi genres. Sandy also had a well-known sweet tooth.

Sandy was family-oriented, laid-back, and an unwavering supporter of her children's sports and extracurricular activities. Her easy-going nature and fun-loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Joshua Ford and Sabrina Ford, and her numerous grandchildren who brought her immense joy and pride.

A celebration of Sandy's life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to help cover the cremation costs and Celebration of Life expenses.
