Rebecca, I hope this finds you. I just now saw about your mom. I don’t know how I missed it. She was by far my favorite teacher. I always kept in touch with her ever since I had her. I would even come and visit her while she had class. She was a wonderful lady and will be missed.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this painful time. Mrs. Edwards was such a positive teacher to all of her students, she made them earn their grade but was always there for them. Every student she had was very fortunate to have her as a teacher. RIP Mrs. Edwards, you taught me that if I worked hard, good things would be at the end of the tunnel. Thank you for be a positive influence in my life.
I’m so very sorry to her family and friends. She was one of my favorite teachers and some lessons she taught us, beyond curriculum, have been life long. She truly cared for all of us kids and taught us so very much! RIP Mrs. Edwards and thank you for the education, leadership and love you gave us all.
Sandy was a mentor to me at Indian Trail...I was a baby teacher there, and she was amazingly helpful to me. So sorry to hear about your mom. She was a wonderful person and friend to me.
I was new to Heart of the Pines Chorus in Nacogdoches when I met Sandy. She was so easy to talk to, and had such a warm smile and wonderful laugh. My baritone blended well with her bass, and I loved to be next to her on the risers. When I went to contest the first time, she bought me a bracelet-- said I was a "Newby" and needed one. I learned more about her by watching her as she watched Rebecca perform. Talk about a proud Mama! Lots of talent in both of those ladies! She is missed! ~Lois Lacy
Sandy was special! When I first moved from Colorado to Nacogdoches and became a member of Heart of the Pines - I was terrified because I was asked to sing a part I’d never sung in a chorus before. But, because they needed help in that part and I’d sung tenor ‘a little’ in a kitchen quartet for fun, that’s where I found myself!!! I wasn’t even sure I could do it in a chorus of any size, much less a small chorus where everything is heard!!! The first time I met the chorus and sang with them, Sandy gave me the encouragement I needed!!! When we did riser placements and she asked to have me sing behind her.... that’s all it took to give me the confidence I needed to keep going!! She will always live in my heart for that! A special lady, for sure, who will truly be missed!
Becky and Mr. E, Mrs. E was the best! I met her when I was on the student council at Indian Trail and then years later as a teacher colleague at Grand Prairie; she was so very sweet and full of encouragement. A beautiful lady with an amazing smile and heart of gold. Hugs and prayers for you. Jen Stumo
I will never forget how she would let the students give her a shoulder rub if we got a good grade on a test. A win, win for Mrs. E! God bless her and I hope she gets lots of shoulder rubs in heaven 🙏 ❤.
Sandy and I were best friends growing up attending grade school thru high school. Spent many hours playing jacks on our kitchen floor, sitting on the front porch and discussing life, playing games or cards at our kitchen table or singing our hearts out along with our favorite Johhny Mathis. Sandy was just the best! I will miss her very much.
