Sandra's obituary
As a graduate of Harrison High School in Chicago, in her youth Sandi enjoyed horseback riding and dancing, even appearing on Jim Lounsbury’s Sock Hop. She married Nickolas DeCiani in 1963 and together raised a close and loving family. Sandi became an excellent Italian cook and baker, loving nothing more than celebrating the holidays with her family.
Sandra left behind a legacy of love. She slipped away surrounded by her family, Nick, her devoted husband of 57 years and her three daughters, Gina DeCiani, Susan DeCiani Dunbar and her husband Don Dunbar, and Nikki DeCiani Bridges and her husband Mark Bridges, and their children, Sandi’s grandchildren, Nicholas and Rachel Bridges.
Sandi is also survived by her two sisters, Barbara Jakabowski (née Kryzyzowski) and Susan Plosnich (née Kryzwzowski).
A private memorial service for the family will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 with a full mass at St. Daniel the Prophet in Wheaton, Illinois followed by a luncheon and celebration of Sandi’s life and the love and light she brought to us all.
