Sandra's obituary
Sandra Kay DeBardeleben, 71, passed away peacefully in Memphis, TN on March 30, 2023. Sandra was born on August 17, 1951, in Memphis, TN to her parents, Doris Smith and John Mosley. She called Memphis home for the first 35 years of her life until the family was transferred to Peachtree City, GA in 1986. After spending many years with Fass Travel in Fairburn, GA, she relocated back to Memphis in 1996 to take over the family flooring business. She enjoyed numerous successful years owning and operating Curtis Carpet Company until her retirement in 2011. She spent many years as an active member of the Memphis Area Homebuilders Association.
Sandra loved her family and friends with her whole heart. She adored being a wife and mother, but her favorite title was "Mimi." She was the true definition of a strong woman full of grace and knowledge. To know Sandra meant you always had an ear to listen and the most loving advice was given. She never had trouble telling the hard truths or advocating for her family and friends.
Sandra is survived by her son, Brian Campany, son, BJ DeBardeleben (Charlotte), daughter, Heather Barks (Jon), grandchildren, Tatum DeBardeleben, Dagney DeBardeleben, Piper DeBardeleben, Amelia DeBardeleben, Nathan DeBardeleben, Grant DeBardeleben, Taylor Long (Dakota), & Kaitlyn Barks, great-grandchild, Jillian Long, and sister, Lily Gaston. She is preceded in death by her husband, Nelson DeBardeleben, husband, Mackie Campany, and mother, Doris Smith.
Sandra spent her younger years traveling the world with her husband and family. Her favorite times were spent on the water in a boat or on a floating dock. She always took advantage of a good time and didn’t hesitate to bring her family and friends along with her.
