Sandra's obituary

Sandra Kay (Holst-Grubbe)(Boteler) Boyett was born to Katherine (Jackson) and Tor Holst-Grubbe on July 11, 1944 in West Palm Beach. Upon Katherine's marriage to Jack Boteler he adopted her. She grew up in Seabrook, Texas and graduated from Clear Creek High School. She then attended Southwest Texas State College (now Texas State University) where she was a Strutter. She met the love of her life, Bob Boyett, while there and they married in Seguin, Texas in 1963. First as an Air Force wife, and then as a corporate wife, she supported Bob and gave birth to their four children, Christine, Keith, Cidnie, and Rabbit. She was very involved in her children's activities,  taking them to choir, horseback riding lessons, dance classes, baseball, swim team, and a variety of other activities. She volunteered as a school nurse, ran Vacation Bible School for Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Melbourne, Florida, and was an enthusiastic room mother. She joined Bob in working for the Elks Foundation, and was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority, a bond she shared with her daughter and two of her granddaughters. Her home was always open to the many adopted children she loved throughout the years. Her lasting legacy will be her devotion to her friends and family. She is survived by her children Christine Barr, Keith Boyett, Cidnie Carroll, and Rabbit (Hopie) Boyett, her grandchildren Victoria Earnest Smith, Madeleine Thompson, Jackson Barr, Liam Barr, Cameron Boyett, Carson Boyett, Carlee Boyett, Samuel Lipani, Maura Spence, and Ethan Boyett, her sister Claudia Aguilar, and brothers Jack and Kim Boteler. Her husband Bob Boyett and granddaughter Kitty Carroll preceded her in death. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to Texas Equusearch.
