Samuel's obituary
Samuel Lee Parker, of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 7, 1953, in Harriman, Tennessee led a life marked by dedication and love.
For four decades, Sam was that friendly face at the United States Post Office. During that time, he became a staple in the lives of many who walked those halls.
But it wasn't just letters and parcels that Sam had a knack for handling. Just as he tended to his ever-flourishing garden, he cultivated the growth of his kids and grandkids. Drawing a parallel to his favorite tomatoes, each of his family members was a testimony to the care and nurturing he so lovingly provided. Those tomatoes? Oh, they were legendary. And so was Sam's heart, always making sure family and friends got a taste.
Left to cherish his unforgettable tales are his wife, Leona, his sister Sally, his children Shannon Chojnacki (Geoff), Sam Parker (Casey), Tyler Parker (Margo), Beth Pietro (Jon), Heather Mullaney, and Sabrina Mullaney. Not to forget his grandkids - Riley, Keira, Hailey, Camden, Winter, Lee, and Julian - each one carrying a piece of Sam's spirit.
The man was a rock. A guiding light teaching the importance of a hard day's work, the magic of simple moments, and the art of sharing a good laugh. His legacy isn't just in the wooden crafts or the blooming flowers but in the hearts he touched and the stories shared over dinner tables.
In Sam's memory, the family hopes that folks will plant a seed, nurture a garden, or simply sit under a tree, remembering the growth and beauty he brought into this world.
