Samuel's obituary
It is with deep sorrow and grace in our hearts, that we announce the passing of a beloved family man, Samuel "Sam" Nicholas. Born on February 20, 1952, Samuel, also affectionately known as "Sammy" to close friends, transitioned to eternity on November 28, 2025.
Sammy did not want a funeral service, but we appreciate all the love and support and encourage everyone to share their favorite memories of Sammy on this memorial website. We kindly ask that no donations or flowers be sent to the family.
Samuel was an easy-going man, with a big heart. He was a story-teller par excellence, effortlessly engaging his children and grandchildren with stories that brought laughter and wisdom. His most resonant life lesson was the belief that "You catch more bees with honey", a testament to his generous and loving nature.
Among his various interests, Samuel found peace and happiness in fishing, collecting baseball cards, watching his favorite TV shows - notably Benny Hill, bicycling, and jogging. These simple pleasures, together with his work for causes dear to his heart like St Jude's for Children, painted a picture of a man who understood the value of life's simplicities.
Samuel leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and giving. His children - Diane Nicholas, Rockelle Branzetti, and Jimmy Nicholas - constitute some of his greatest accomplishments, along with his cherished grandchildren - Alyssa Branzetti, Justin Ruggerio, Brittney Ruggerio, and Gianna Branzetti.
Samuel also leaves behind his devoted son-in-law, Anthony Ruggerio. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Diane Egan Nicholas, Samuel's love for his family underscores his life and his influence will persist through their lives.
We remember Samuel not only for the joy he brought us but also for his strength in character. He taught us that the greatest riches a person can leave behind is the love they gave and the lives they touched. Samuel was indeed a man of substance and will always be remembered as such.
