I hadn't talked with Sam for some time and tried to call his cell#. When I got the, "number not in service" message I had a bad feeling. A quick Internet search confirmed the worst. The last time I saw Sam was when Steve Sanford and I had lunch with him at the Billtown Rd. Cracker Barrel. I will always remember the times we went target practicing around the Floyd's Fork area after school, rappelling in the Red Rive Gorge and Spelunking in several Bullet Co. caves. Sam was directly responsible for me entering and graduating from the EET program at WKU. He was the friend who you may not see for several years, but would immediately pick up the conversation where you left off. I only wish I had known before he passed so I could have said thank you and goodby old friend. I will miss him.
Wow,...was thinking 'bout you recently. To the family, my prayers/thoughts/condolences. Those of your students/friends who knew you always loved you and will miss you. I'll definately miss our talks in and out of school more than you'll ever know. And lest I forget, something I should've done back then, but will say it here anyway,....Thank you for being a good and positive influence in my life. Thank you. RIP
