Samuel's obituary
Samuel Dean Eaddy, born on June 1st, 1987 left this world at his home in Des Moines, Iowa on September 29th, 2023.
Sam is survived by his mother, Kathryn Eaddy of Cocoa, FL; his sister, Laura Johnson, and nephews, Ronin, Sagan, and Stone Johnson of Port Saint John, FL.
He was a shining star, excelling in both sports and academics during his time in Cocoa, FL. After graduating from Cocoa High School in 2005, he answered the call of duty, joining the Coast Guard, where his dedication and service were recognized with the following honors: CG Meritorious Team Commendation; CG Meritorious Unit Commendation; CG Pistol Marksmanship Ribbon; CG Rifle Marksmanship Ribbon; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Two Coast Guard Good Conduct Medals.
A man of boundless compassion and an uncanny ability to connect with others, Sam dedicated his life to serving those in need, first in the Coast Guard and later as a housing specialist for the Department of Veteran Affairs. His unwavering commitment to helping the less fortunate left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know him. He believed in the power of change and inspiring others to reach their fullest potential.
Sam was a true creator, wielding his hands and mind to craft solutions that made life easier not only for himself, but for those around him. His zest for life was unparalleled, cherishing every moment as if it were the greatest adventure. His spirit took him across borders, oceans, and through countless states, a testament to his insatiable curiosity for living life to the fullest, fearlessly embracing every experience.
A pillar of strength, Sam accepted others with grace, offering unwavering support. His legacy lives on in the hearts he touched, the lives he changed, and the love he shared. Rest in peace, dear Sam. You will be cherished and deeply missed.
Sam's family will hold a small private ceremony, with a celebration of his remarkable life to follow in November of 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you donate your time and resources to one of Sam's passions - the Wounded Warrior Project or K9s for Warriors.
