Sam's obituary
Brother Samuel "Sam" Barnett, 55, of Coldwater, MI, passed away on September 23, 2024 after year of dealing with covid 19, and suffering from (MRSA) staff infection in both legs that was destroying his legs from the inside out and leaving massive size cradle sized holes that filled with puss filled sacks that caused him so much pain and made it hard for him to walk around and be on his feet for long periods of time. And all the infection and getting covid 19 more then 4 time in a yr caused his heart to begin to fail and he needed a heart valve transplant and his leg removed at the hip and because he got the covid 19 he could not leave for the two weeks Corintined. And he past away before he could get the surgerys done to save or try and save his life by having the two done but he was called home before he was able to have them done.
Sam was born on February, 16, 1969 in sturgis hospital to the parents Randal L Barnett colon (passed away 7-25-1995and Bernice H Barnett (Passed away 01-29-2013). And the had a total of 8 kids and Sam was the last of the 5 boy streak Randy M Barnett (Alaska) Edward (Lynn) Barnett sturgis, Andrew L Barnett Three Rivers mi Daniel L Barnett (sturgis) and then Sally (Barnett) Farmer (Robert) of Mendon, Mark A Barnett of Kalamazoo mi, And Laura A Barnett of Dowagiac, mi
Sam was a force of nature to mess with, If you hurt his kids or any ones kids in any way and sam seen or found out about it, you was better off running to another state or country cause he was the child's defender and protecter in any way he had to be. And he was well liked and respected for because of that. No one was scared about leaving sam around there child because everyone new sam would protect them. determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him then anything and he always put family first.. my brother was and will always be Laura's hero, Protecter, and my back bone. Sam was proud of the choice Tyler made on his own to do what he is doing to make his life better and to get himself back on track and sam Knowing what his son Tyler was doing made him so proud, and Happy, And he respected his son for doing it. And made sure we all new what Tyler was doing and to make a promise we would do whatever it took to help Tyler stay on the road he is on. Sam always tried his best to support them in the decisions family made.
Sam was a hard parent at times when he had to be and tried to show how important family is to family. And no matter what family sticks together and you don't turn your back on your kids.. when he wasn’t at home everyone new that if he was not home you was not to start anything with his kid and you respect his kid as he did yours.
.
Anyone who knew Sam knew that he was the most loving father and Brother a family could ask for. Sam had lost a number of family members to cancer's and brain anerismas, and to suicide, and sam has a number of neices and nephews and great neices and nephews and he has grandkids from both Tyler and Amanda that we all wished they could have known sam for the sam we all know and love.
