I got an email telling me this month’s prompt was how Sam made the world a brighter place, and I can’t think of a single example. Because everything Sammy did was to make someone smile, make someone’s day better, even if she herself was having a hard time. She always made those around her laugh. I think I miss that the most about her. ♥️

It breaks my heart that Charlie is no longer with us, but it brings me immense comfort knowing that you two are reunited once again. Love you and Charlie the Weiner Dog both so, so, so much. ❤️

We couldn’t fathom how much time had passed in 2016 and now it just seems like a cruel joke the universe is playing. 16 years?! I miss you SO freakin much, friend.

I miss you, my sweet girl. You were so loving, so caring. Always a hug, and that beautiful smile. Have fun in heaven. Tell the family we miss them, too, but are so happy you are together, in peace and comfort and love.

Many of the memories I have with Sam were during marching band since I started the summer after 6th grade and she was in high school. I remember gravitating towards her, I think she just felt like a safe person from the get go, and I was young and felt nervous at times around older kids. It must have been my first year in marching band going to play at ValleyFair before having a full day of rides. I had never been on any rollercoasters before and I was a little stressed. I remember walking in with a group of a few people including her. I mentioned that I was worried to get on my first ride, and Sam suggested that we go for something chill first. So we hopped on a train ride (that did a have a few sharp turns if I recall). She sat next to me and held my hand, and I really did feel comforted. The rest of the day after that was filled with high-intensity rides, and lots of memories. But I will always remember the friendship and the comfort Sam provided me being the newbie, and how I never felt judged by her. Always lots of love. - Linnea Peasley
