Sal Nuno, who most recently resided in Glendale, passed away on June 22 at the age of 93 following complications from heart surgery. Born in Los Angeles to Salvador and Julia (Ruiz), Sal attended schools in the Sliverlake area of Los Angeles, including Marshall High School. At the age of 17, he joined the merchant marine and transported cargo to the western Pacific. He was later drafted in the Army and served during the Korean …
