Sally Ann Poindexter, 81, Kansas City. Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin passed away peacefully January 3, 2026. Born September 29, 1944, in Warrensburg, Mo. She was raised in Chilhowee, Mo. In 1960 she married Wayne Poindexter of Blairstown, Mo. They had two daughters, Debbie and Dana, who were raised in Independence, Mo. where Sally lived for over 60 yrs. She was a lifelong member of the Chilhowee United Methodist Church and attended Full Gospel Assembly the last several years with her friends known as the Golden Girls. Sally worked in the hospitality industry starting in 1969 at the General's Inn as Hostess. She managed several establishments in Independence before retiring in 2006. She was a long-time member of the Auxiliary of The American Legion Post 21, The Independence Jaycees, and assisted Agents at Weber & Associates Realtors for several years in Lees Summit and Gladstone, Mo. She loved being with family, friends, working, attending Karaoke, playing cards, visiting in the garden with Jack and going to Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Milfred and Opal Ficke of Chilhowee. Sally is survived by her daughters Debbie Alexander-Allen, Buckner, Mo. and Dana Weber (Chuck) Parkville, Mo. Grandchildren Sunny, Anni, Tanner (Leigh Ann), and Gavin. Great-Grandchildren Gage, Grayson, and Annabella. Brother Robert (Teena), many nieces and nephews.
