Sally's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sally Killian on November 10, 2023. Born on January 19, 1941, Sally lived a vibrant and full life, touching the lives of many with her outgoing, talkative, and inquisitive nature.
Sally is survived by her loving daughters, Katharine and Elizabeth Killian, who inherited their mother's strong will and zest for life. She was predeceased by her loving mother, Crystal Sensow.
A woman of many passions, Sally's favorite foods were as diverse and delightful as her personality, ranging from pizza and tacos from Bakersfield to the fine delicacy of creme brulee. She enjoyed her black coffee strong, much like her spirit, and often paired it with her favorite Danielle Steele novels or an intriguing cookbook.
Avid cinema-goer, Sally counted 'On Golden Pond' among her favorite films. Her love for the arts didn't stop there, as she was always eager to watch ice-skating performances, mesmerized by the grace and poise of the skaters.
Sally was equally fond of keeping her hands busy, often found knitting or cooking. Her dishes not only filled the stomachs but also warmed the hearts of those lucky enough to be on the receiving end.
Remarkably, amidst her numerous hobbies, Sally managed to carve out a successful career as a nurse. Her patients often described her as a beacon of hope, her care and nurturing nature evident in all her interactions.
Sally's legacy will live on not just in her work but in the hearts of all those she interacted with. Sally never met a stranger, and that's probably because she always brought warmth, comfort, and a sense of familiarity to every conversation. Her light will be missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire us all.
