Sally's obituary
We sadly announce the passing of Sally Deitch on February 25, 2024. Born on December 1, 1930, she lived a full and joyous life, marked by her keen intellect, warm laughter, and unwavering commitment to her loved ones and causes she held dear.
Sally is survived by her loving daughter, Ellen Cohen, her dear son-in-law, Ira Cohen, and her cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Keith, and Jenna Cohen. These relationships held a significant place in her heart, and she considered her family her most precious accomplishment.
Her memory will also be treasured by the friends she made at Baker's Bay Condos, where she resided. Sally was predeceased by her beloved spouse, George Deitch and their son, Mark Deitch, whose memories she held close to her heart.
Known for her sharp wit and infectious laughter, Sally enjoyed life's simple pleasures. She had a fondness for wine, and her penchant for games like Mahjongg and Canasta brought her much joy. She was often seen engaged in her favorite recreational activities which included attending shows and musicals. Vacationing at the shore was another one of her joys, providing moments of tranquility and reflection.
As an extraordinary woman who lived a life of purpose, one of Sally's greatest accomplishments was serving as the assistant to the president of Family Planning Counsel for over twenty years. This service marked her deep-seated passion for contributing to the community, particularly her support towards the Children's Hospital.
Living by the philosophy of embracing each day and staying occupied, Sally's legacy is an inspiration to all. She was a beacon of positivity and warmth, ever ready with a smile, a laugh, or a helping hand. She will be dearly missed by all whose lives were touched by her radiant personality and generous spirit.
