Sally's obituary
Sally Sue Cavender was born in Jellico, TN, and later moved to Dayton, OH, where she spent her formative and early adult years. A cheerleader in high school, she carried that same spirit throughout her life—always full of energy, determination, and an infectious love for life. She loved to dance and sing and did both as often as she could. A petite woman with boundless enthusiasm, she never knew the word "quit."
For many years, Sally worked as a hairstylist, bringing joy and confidence to those who sat in her chair. She had a deep love for her faith and was a devoted member of First Baptist Church Daytona Beach, where she found great comfort and community. Above all, she cherished her family and treasured every moment spent with them.
Sally was preceded in death by her mother, Pearl Jones; her sisters, Alice and Alpha; and her brother, Jerry. She is survived by her brother, Herschel McCurry, and sister, Lynn Krahn. She leaves behind her beloved sons, Clayton and Eric Cavender, both of Daytona Beach, who were the greatest joys of her life.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, Daytona Beach, FL on the 24th of March, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Foundation for Cancer Research (nfcr.org) in Sally’s honor.
