Ryan's obituary
Ryan Pearsall, who was born and raised in Mount Pleasant, MI and Central Michigan University graduate, passed away on May 14, 2024 at the tender age of 46.
Ryan completed his HS Diploma at Mt. Pleasant High School in 1996 and his Bachelors degree in Entrepreneurship at CMU of Mt. Pleasant, MI in 2001. He loved to experience new places and experiences and lived in San Diego, CA, Austin, TX, San Allende Mexico, Miami, FL and Pattaya Thailand. One thing that was unique about Ryan was that he was a naturally gifted athlete. He was in the top 10% of every sport he played. He also spent hours each week researching alternative news stories to truly understand how the world worked which he discovered was far different from the propaganda pushed by mainstream media.
Ryan considered his father Rick Pearsall, a long-time resident and dentist in Mt. Pleasant, to be his best friend. The father-son duo loved to play together whether it was hitting the tennis racket, or gold balls or jet skiing at the lake, Ryan and Rick were inseparable.
Likewise, Ryan was deeply grateful for the devotion, love and support he received from his mom, K’ana Degen (formerly Bev Pearsall) with whom he had nightly conversations discussing the turbulent world we lived in and how they could make it better. Ryan loved to talk about how he wanted to exit the system and build a permaculture farm and recovery center for addicts to heal. Addiction and trauma recovery were both topics that Ryan was passionate about as he wanted to help others overcome the pain that can keep people in an emotional prison of addiction.
Ryan is survived by his mom, K’ana, step-mother, Jane Pearsall, a sister, Kendra, two nieces Tomi and Aria and many wonderful relatives including his favorite buds Evan and Dan. His ashes will be scattered at Big Basswood Lake Canada at the site of his family vacation cabin where he had so many cherished childhood memories with his dad and extended family: family meals, frisbee, jet skiing, fishing, boating, hiking, blueberry picking, swimming and relaxing to the tranquil lapping of the beautiful lakeshore.
He was dearly loved by his family and friends who will continue to honor his legacy by pursuing their life purpose and investing in projects dedicated to regenerative food production and addiction recovery.
