Ryan's obituary

Remembering Ryan Murphy, Eldest Son of Mike Murphy.

We offer our deepest condolences to Four Rivers AOR Staff Member and Central Texas MLS Operations Officer, Mike Murphy, whose 17-year-old son, Ryan Mitchell Murphy, passed tragically on Saturday, May 23, along with his friend, Phoenix Milner.

Ryan Murphy was a very bright and charismatic Junior at Canyon High School, who made an unforgettable impression on the students, faculty, and small-town community of New Braunfels, since moving here from California last November. He was looking forward to graduating from high school next year and expressed an interest in pursuing a career in Real Estate. He had a lot of devoted mentors around him with Mike working in our REALTOR® family. Ryan loved to play volleyball, wakeboard, game online, swim at the river with his friends, race go-carts, make people laugh, and practice Kung Fu with his Dad. He was an outstanding role model for his younger brother, Matthew, who lives in California and thought the world of his older brother. Gone too soon, two young lives were taken in a car accident in New Braunfels after a morning with family and friends at the lake. The loss of Ryan, along with his friend Phoenix, will be felt for a long time by their friends and family.

Mike Murphy joined Four Rivers/CTXMLS in June of 2017 and immediately fit right into our REALTOR® Family. Mike has been an integral part of our Association, offering his expertise by overseeing all of our MLS operations and providing essential support to the Four Rivers Association of REALTORS® members to the fullest of his ability.

Please keep Mike Murphy and his family, both in Texas and in California, in your thoughts and prayers. We know there is a long, difficult journey ahead and we hope our community will show love and support for our wonderful friend, colleague and neighbor.

Rest in Peace, Ryan Murphy. There are no goodbyes, as you will be in our hearts forever.
