Ryan's obituary
Ryan Christopher Harris
December 29, 1974 – September 30, 2025
Ryan Christopher Harris, 50, of Florida, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025, at 12:20 p.m. He was born on December 29, 1974, in Columbus, Ohio, to Paul and Connie Harris.
Ryan moved to Florida in 1980, where his lifelong love of music began. Inspired by his grandfather, Johnny Poland, who played bass and rhythm guitar, Ryan went on to become a talented drummer. Over the years, he played with several bands, including Simple Circus and Seven Mary Three. He also co-wrote the song Cumbersome, which remains a favorite among many who knew and loved him. Ryan’s passion for music brought joy to those around him—whether jamming with friends or playing at gatherings, his energy and laughter filled the room.
In 1998, Ryan married the love of his life, Renee Harris. Together they shared a deep and devoted bond and raised one daughter, Ryanne. The family lived in New York for several years, where Ryan worked as a restaurant manager at a golf course before returning to Florida in 2018. There, he continued doing what he loved—connecting with people. As a bartender, Ryan was known for his warm smile, kind heart, and great conversations.
Ryan will be remembered as a happy soul with a big smile and an even bigger heart. He had a gift for making others feel welcome and valued, always ready with a joke, a song, or a listening ear.
Ryan is survived by his loving wife, Renee; his daughter, Ryanne; son-in-law, Quinton; and grandson, Ryker. He is also survived by his parents, Paul and Connie Harris; his brother, Donnie; and several nieces and nephews who adored him.
Ryan’s family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support. In his honor, they invite friends and loved ones to celebrate his life—sharing stories, laughter, and memories, just as Ryan would have wanted.
