Joann and I fell in love with the Downs family. Such great young men and a great mom. So sad to hear about Ryan, another great tragedy in a family that has already suffers great loss. People the war on drugs is reality. The epidemic of opiates is reality. The tragedy to families around the world is incalculable. Pray for young people, pray for those in government who take this War seriously. Support the Salvation Army and any organization that is trying to save people from this terrible evil. And above all, pray for the Downs family.

So, so sorry for your loss of Ryan. My heart is breaking💔 I am speechless and stunned. Such a good soul gone way too soon. I am praying for God to wrap you All in His Loving arms to ease your pain and suffering during this difficult time today and moving forward. 😪

St Patrick’s Day -Ryan showed up at my parent’s house and asked if we wanted green beer. We spend the evening hanging out and laughing as we always did with Ryan. His laugh was infectious, you just couldn’t help but laugh. He will be greatly missed by many. ❤️
My Deepest Condolences to the Family and my friend Mayu Cervantes. I pray that God will Comfort you and give you Peace and understanding during this difficult time. Love Lisa Robinson
I am so deeply saddened by the news of Ryan’s passing. I remember him in high school being so carefree, friendly, and always smiling. He put out a happy vibe and will be so fondly remembered by us all.
Ryan was always so happy and always made me laugh. I remember the time him and I ran to the store at one of Nolan’s birthday parties and he wanted to buy a 16ft stone dinosaur statue for Nolan to put in the yard. Thank goodness it was $1500 or he would have tried to buy it and Max and Catherine would have a very large dinasour in there yard😊. He is gone way to soon and will be missed by many. The family is in my prayers everyday. Love you all❤️
Always smiling and charming, not a single bad things to say about Ryan. The world lost a gem!
Words cannot express the sadness in my heart. I've known Ryan since he was a little tot and always loved him. When Fuzz and I would visit, when he was a little man, he'd always liked to dance with me. Many great memories come to mind when we'd have our Christmas's together. I'm praying for all the Downs and Gundling families that with Gods help they will get thru this trying time.
Love and miss you all,

One of the silliest, fairly lame, but easily most memorable senior pranks! Making our attempt at "borrowing" the podium from English class. Only a select few know about that day, and they all will smile at the memory. Were gonna miss you the same as we have every day Ryan. We love you man. I love you, and I miss you. The world is a lesser place with you not in it, so many memories of you and your family will live on for eternity with us. Prayers for the family and friends will pour from my heart.
I met Ryan when I was about 19 years old. We worked at the same restaurant in Blacksburg and had a lot of great times together. Since then, Ryan has always been a part of my life. We lost touch the past couple years, but about 3 weeks ago I felt like I should reach out to him and reconnect. It was like no time had passed at all and I was happy to be in contact again. Like all have said here, Ryan was a light. He was joy to those around him because of the amazing ability he had to make the world smile. He could joke, dance, and groove like no one I had ever met. Ryan was also kind and had a goodness about him that made others drawn to him. Just as anyone who knew Ryan, my heart hurts knowing that I won't be able to share more amazing memories with him. Be at peace now, Ryan. Know that you were loved. Nothing can hurt you now.

I have known Ryan all of his life. He always made me smile and was such a fun and loving guy who always hugged and made you feel loved!

He was greatly loved and my heart just breaks. My heart goes out to the entire family...we love you all so much!
