Ruth's obituary
We regret to announce the passing of Ruth Rall, 59, of Palm Bay, FL, on April 29, 2023. Ruth passed away peacefully while in the care of Health First Hospice. She was born March 5, 1964 in Columbus, Ohio and moved to Melbourne, Florida in the summer of 2002.
Ruth was predeceased by her parents Robert and Elizabeth (Betty) Rall. She is survived by her long-time partner, Meredith Smith; her two children Sandra (Justin) Rusnak and Andrew Rall; her grandson Sebastian Rusnak, her partner's children Lilly and Bradley Smith, her three brothers Robert (Gina) Rall, James (Wendy) Rall , and William Rall, nieces and nephews Adam Rall, Jenna Rall, Jake Rall, and Sarah Hawk, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends she made through the years. She is also survived by her beloved dogs Idgie, Cinco, Harley, Baby, and Sally who were like her children after having her children.
Ruth had previously requested to be cremated and scattered in the ocean. Those of you who know her well know that she did not like to be dressed up, stuffy-feeling, or contained to a small area. She wanted to be free and loved being outside. We will be having a celebration of life (date/time TBD, though likely in 2 to 3 weeks) in which we will share stories about Ruth and reflect on many reasons we will always remember her. We plan on having this in the Melbourne area on the beach where we will have finger foods and refreshments. We are also going to be sharing pictures of her through her 59 years and will conclude the celebration with the scattering of her ashes. Plan on wearing your shorts and enjoying the view on this day, it's what she would have wanted.
Davis Seawinds will be handling her cremation and posting a full obituary https://www.davisseawinds.com/
In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate on her behalf to Florida Wildlife Hospital and Sanctuary (www.floridawildlifehospital.o…) or to Health First Hospice who provided exemplary care to her in her final day and hours. The care they provided to Ruth (and family) was beyond amazing, and we are forever grateful.
