Ruth's obituary
Ruth Potter was born near Tarrytown (n. of Yonkers), New York. She liked to joke that she was born in Sing Sing. She married young and had two children but was widowed early as well. She remarried to George C Potter, who she met in NYC, and had two more children. She had the most delightful sense of humor and loved to read.
George and Ruth Potter retired to Lancaster from the East Coast in the mid-1960s. George liked to meet with the local farmers at the Pink Pony and worked as a bailiff at the courthouse. George would golf by walking down the street to the municipal course most days that he could. George and Ruth kept up with their grandkids birthdays and often hosted their kids and grandkids for major holidays. They will be remembered for loving to tell stories at the dinner table, most of them with a good punchline. They laughed a lot together, traveled together, and loved each other to the end.
