I'm so sorry for the loss of Ruth. Such a wonderful person, loving and a friend to all. We will all miss her dearly.
I was a friend of Ruth's from Questers.

To Ruthie’s family,
Ruthie and I became friends as a result of the marriage of her sister and my brother. We attended high school together and were “sisters” in the club of future homemakers. I was blessed to be chosen by Ruthie as her little sister. Ironically, we both did become homemakers, moms and teachers.
Ruthie was a blessing to all who knew her. She completed many tasks with her special touch. She will be missed by many.
Sending God’s blessings to Ruthie’s friends and family,
Ellen Huitt Crocker

I am so very sorry to learn of Ruthie's passing. Our friendship has extended through many years and long distances. Our visits with ya'll were highlights and some of our most enjoyable moments. My heart is heavy with condolences to Tim, Tom, Tamah and their families. I don't have the words to express the meaning of the special friendship we shared -- so many sweet memories!!

With a very heavy heart, it is difficult to find the words for such a pleasant positive friendly person as my cousin Ruthy, and to express my sympathy and love to all the wonderful Smith/Lowery family. It was always good memories for me of living on Marble Creek, attending Red School, playing "rawhide" chasing the cows and the pigs (Uncle Pauls pigs) and the endless wealth of life on a farm, everything from snakes to eating persimmons, and a big garden. Songs at church like Amazing Grace and How Great Thou Art were a favorite item on the menu, and a delicious chicken dinner with big homemade biscuits was usually on the menu after church. Ruthy shared my Grandmothers name, as they were both Ruth Smith, and it was always enjoyable and memorable to visit Bill and Ruthy at their home in St Louis/Overland with my Grandma. I found Ruthy to be so positive and courageous in all of her challenges taking loving care of Bill, and even fearlessly going to Mexico for treatment. I pray the Good Lord, will lead and guide us all to have the strong Christian faith and character that I always saw in Ruthy. God Bless.

My sincere condolences to Ruth's family on the passing of Ruth. My husband, Red, and I heard about Ruth and Bill Lowery when our daughter, Susan, moved to Bella Vista, Ar. in 2003. She later said, "this sweet couple we met at church asked if they could babysit our 4 children so we could have a date night!" Amazing. She and Bill were our grandchildren's adoptive grandparents as were lived in Florida, a long way away. We got to know them when we visited and became friends. Red played golf with Bill. After moving here in 2013 we became great friends with Ruth and Bill. Ruth talked me into joining the Questers in 2014. She gave of herself so unselfishly. She loved the Lord and was a sweet witness for Christ. She had birthday parties for our grandchildren, including us and joined us when we had celebrations for them. She reached out to everyone in a loving, accepting way. She will always have a special place in our daughter's family's hearts as well as mine. I will miss her terribly but I know she is in her heavenly home without pain.
