Taffy's obituary
Ruth "Taffy" Hughes, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lasting legacy of love and warmth. Taffy was a proud mother to her children: Karen Sklar and her husband Todd, Kristine Cox, Leonard Cox, and Andrew Cox and his wife Mary. She cherished her eight grandchildren, Gabrielle, Madison, Katelyn, Elizabeth, Logan, Ethan, Mason, and Dylan, who brought her immense joy.
Taffy was preceded in death by her twin sister, Susan DiBenadetto, and is survived by her brother, Dave Hobbs. Known for her legendary baking, Taffy delighted family and friends alike with her famous apple pies, blonde brownies, and no-bake cookies.
A vibrant spirit, she enjoyed watching her favorite cooking channels, reflecting her passion for great food and indulging in a little ice cream. Taffy also held fond memories of coaching softball for her daughters in the early 1980s and vacationing with the Tucker family.
Taffy loved her animals and treasured her friendships, particularly her life-long friends on Rocky Pond and the members of her garden club. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Boylston, MA, where she found a sense of community. And she felt fulfilled working with friends at Spag's and Davidian's Farm.
Her laughter, love, and delicious treats will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Taffy's memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
