I remember her, during her last days, here and there throughout my day so far.
My mother has been coming to me in my dreams sometimes, and I write them down in a Word document. She is so caring, and loving with the truth.
She was a great doer of the word. Her actions spoke louder than words. You can tell by her cooking, and her being there for me many times. She really didn’t complain. She was amazing and great! What a great all around person like a multifaceted diamond. She had years of doing great at the things she did for others and herself. I am glad that God made someone like my mother for me to witness such love in actions and in truth by also her writings she left behind. How she wrote on the hearts and minds of loved ones, and strangers and acquaintances. She used to tell me to always ask people how they are doing.

A day to day thing that reminds me of my mother continually is the places she used to go to, to walk her paths, like at Target in San Dimas, and the 99 cents only store in Glendora. Small things like that.

What made my mother different from most people I know, is that she gets all the credits and the most credits I’ve ever seen with people. She was forgiving in her heart and it showed through her quietness. How she was at peace with things. She’d like to go shopping for others. She’d put others first. She really showed a lot of Jesus Christ in her life to me. She was awesome, and this life is temporary, so I can’t wait to see her one day again
The most fun I ever had with my mother is talking with her and she with me.

What I learned from Ruth, one of the things, is that she valued education. So I love the knowledge. What lasting impact she had on me, was that she was there for others.
Hello Rosa, my deepest condolences to you and your family. May God bring you all healing and peace. I love you and will continue praying. 🙏❤️🙏
My sincere condolences on the loss of your sister Ruth.

I found this poem written in her journal. My mom loved writing and even wrote several poems of her own. This one was one of her favorites:

WHAT WILL MATTER by Michael Josephson

Ready or not, some day it will all come to an end.

There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours, or days.

All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten, will pass to someone else.

Your wealth, fame, and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance.

It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed.

Your grudges, resentments, frustrations, and jealousies will finally disappear.

So, too, your hopes, ambitions, plans, and to-do lists will expire.

The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away.

It won’t matter where you came from or what side of the tracks you lived on at the end.

It won’t matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant.

Even your gender and skin color will be irrelevant.

So what will matter? How will the value of your days be measured?

What will matter is not what you bought but what you built; not what you got but what you gave.

What will matter is not your success but your significance.

What will matter is not what you learned but what you taught.

What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage,

or sacrifice that enriched, empowered, or encouraged others to emulate your example.

What will matter is not your competence but your character.

What will matter is not how many people you knew but how many will feel a lasting loss when you’re gone.

What will matter is not your memories but the memories of those who loved you.

What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom, and for what.

Living a life that matters doesn’t happen by accident.

It’s not a matter of circumstance but of choice.

Choose to live a life that matters.
