Ruth Bertrand was born to Ghislaine Kaqui and deceased Duplessy Bertrand on September 2, 1976 in their home in Martissant, Haiti. She is survived by her children, Roonito and Camillia Fond-Rose, siblings Ginette, Jacqueline-Marie, Duplessy Fils., and Gina and her mother Ghislaine Kagui, in addition to many aunts, uncles, and cousins. At the age of 7, Ruth came to the United States with her brother, Duplessy Fils.

She graduated from Miami Central Senior High School in 1995. In 1997, Ruth and Caminito Fond-Rose gave birth to their first child, their son Roonito. In 2001, the couple had their second child, their daughter Camillia. Ruth had so much passion for math and has always had the mindset and composure of a leader. This allowed her to be successful in every professional role she worked in. Ruth did not have a PhD nor was she a millionaire, but the way she always carried herself, the way she takes pride in all that she does, and her willingness to always give would lead you to believe otherwise.

Ruth has always worn many hats - daughter, sister, mother, wife, aunt, godmother, chef, businesswoman, boss, and the list goes on. She was also a God-fearing woman who always had a song of worship coming from her mouth. On November 7th, 2023,

God saw it fit to call His angel home to rest. Ruth may be gone from this world physically, but her spirit lives on within us, and may her legacy continue.
