Rusty's obituary
Russell "Rusty" Tillman, 75, of Flagstaff, AZ, passed away on March 14, 2021.
Rusty was born on February 27th, 1946 to Evelyn and Russell in Beloit, Wisconsin. After graduating from Agua Fria in 1964, he went on to study Mathematics at Arizona State and Psychology at Northern Arizona Univeristy.
After graduation, he landed his first job as a Linebacker and Special Teams Captain for The Washington Redskins for 8 years, where he was known as the "King" of Special Teams. In college, he met his first wife Pam, and they wed. He met his second wife Lorri while he was coaching the Seattle Seahawks.
After a career ending injury, he became a coach for the Seattle Seahawks, and continued his coaching career, including defensive coordinator positions and head coach of the New York New Jersey Hitmen in the XFL.
His Special Teams were known as the RAT Patrol.
Rusty was a force of nature. He was passionate about Football, and also enjoyed playing Golf and the drums.
Anyone who knew Rusty knew that he did things at 110%.
Rusty was predeceased by Russell Peters, Evelyn Collier, and Ernest Tillman. He is survived by Sister Dianne, Ex Wives Pam and Lorri, Children Emily, Joshua, Rachael, Jason, Jacob, and Grandchildren Sophia, Lynza, Helene, William and Esme.
There will be a Celebration of Life on 07/22/2022 at Farrel-McWhirter Farm Park at 5pm.
