Russell's obituary

Russell Lee Donham, 84, passed away Oct. 28, 2018, at his home in Manchester Michigan after a long struggle with dementia and other related illnesses. He was born December 22, 1933 in Newton Falls, Ohio to Elva and Russell Donham, Sr. Russell was a decorated Korean War Veteran. He worked at Michigan Bell Telephone for more than 20 years, and owned a small construction firm. Russell also worked at the Ann Arbor Veteran’s Hospital as maintenance mechanic. During his free time Russell enjoyed wood working and carpentry and built several homes. Russell will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor and he loved to spend time talking and telling stories.
Russell was proceeded in death by his son, Ty Harris (1959), and his wife Nancy (1991). Russell is survived by his children, Steven (Robin), Peggy, Marilyn (Justin), and his grandson Jason (Heidi). In addition to his family, Russell is survived by his beloved companion Nancy Saumier. Nancy, her children and grandchildren held a special place in Russell’s life.
Russell’s inurnment ceremony will be at Arborcrest Memorial Park in Ann Arbor, Michigan at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Russell’s family has requested donations be made to Fisher House Foundation, enabling combat wounded veterans' families to be close to their loved ones during hospitalization.
