It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Runette "Rudy/Squirt" Ligons, who embarked on her peaceful journey from earth into heavenly rest on the 29th of October, 2023. Born on the 1st of December, 1955, Runette crafted a life filled with adventure, love, resilience, and an irreplaceable sense of humor that brought endless joy to those around her.

She answered to many names, but Runette was her preferred moniker, a unique name fitting for such a unique soul. Her vibrant energy, loving spirit, and her ability to light up any room with her unique style will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Runette leaves behind a large and loving family who were blessed to be part of her extraordinary life. She is survived by her brothers, Clifford Ligons, Ralph Ligons, and Todd Thames. Her sisters, Sherry Crane, Evie Matthews, Asenith Toliver, Precious Smith, and Tarwanda Williams, her loving Aunt Margie Adams and best Cuz Althea Thompson, will continue to honor her memory. Her loving daughter, Zahava Epps, grandchildren, Genesis Goode, Surraye Ligons, Zanay Ligons, and Micha Epps, and Christopher Epps Jr., carry forward her legacy.  Each family member was touched in a special way by her unique style of love and warmth, and they will continue to remember and celebrate her life.

Runette is preceded in death by her Parents and brother, Thurman Ligons. Their memory has been a guiding star in her life, and now they reunite in eternal rest.

Runette's life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing her. As we grieve her loss, we also celebrate a life well-lived and cherish the countless ways she touched our lives.
